While most blogs communicate the thoughts of one writer, we pledge to communicate the beliefs of three. |
We are simply three students and mates who possess a love for the beautiful game. Sharing our insights and opinions is something that we are passionate about.
The scope of our posts will not be limited to contemporary football news. We seek to discuss: footballing tactics, institutions, trends and much, much more. The collaborative nature of all of our posts ensure that there is never one, overarching opinion present. While most blogs communicate the thoughts of one writer, we pledge to communicate the beliefs of three. Prior debated and peer-reviewed posts will ensure the coherence in writing that readers desire. It was the realisation of the need for a blog of this kind which led to the birth of 3-At-The-Back. |
Who are the 3-At-The-Back?
Ben: My first memory as a football fan was laying down in my living room watching Jens Lehmann win Arsenal the 2005 FA Cup on penalties. From then on I was captivated by the game (and occasionally by my beloved Gooners). As a student of Economics and Politics, I have made contributions to my University's newspaper - and slightly less effective contributions to its football team. However, I wanted to be able to share my thoughts with a wider audience, and develop them further by collaborating with Will and James.
James: I'm a nineteen-year old avid Luton Town supporter, currently splitting my time between a History degree and Kenilworth Road. While there's nothing better than watching football, discussing it is definitely a close second! I've played, watched, talked, coached, read, listened and even refereed football. So after having dabbled in journalism before, it only felt right to give writing about my passion a shot - I just hope it's on target.
Will: As a devoted Nottingham Forest supporter with an unconditional love for football itself, I look forward to sharing my insights about the game. Alongside undertaking a History degree, I have also joined my University's journalism society. This blog is an exciting prospect and having the ability and platform to be able about to write about my one true love is incredibly enthusing.
